Edinburgh Scotland

Edinburgh (pronounced "ED'n-burah") has been described as the place where the urban and English culture of the Lowlands meets the rustic and Gaelic style of the Highlands. It is consistently ranked one of the best places to live in the World. Now we know why!

Edinburgh is many cities in one. An "Old Town" complete with a medieval castle at one end, a palace at the other, and a cobble-stoned Royal Mile in between. A "New Town" - perfectly planned and at least as beautiful as when it was built in the 1700's. It is a college town, teeming with university students, world-renowned research institutions, physicists, biologists, and scientists. Did I mention the culture? The music? The food?!

We stayed in the heart of the Old Town and woke to bagpipe music every morning. Even as we wandered out of earshot, the haunting music stayed with me all day. In that spirit, I offer a little of the sights, and sounds, of Edinburgh Scotland. Enjoy!
